My favorite spot: Bali
I went to Kuta in 1970. There were three losmens and three restaurants. There was very little electricity and a few telephones. Ngurah Rai was a tin shed.I have been back for several long stays(years) and many,many times since. My friends from the first trip are still my friends. They are middle-aged now with children of their own. Ask me. David.
My favorite spot: Blue Moon Gallery in Ubud, Bali
For those of you who are interested in seeing truly FINE art, I suggest you make a visit here. The gallery is located in the middle of the ricefields in a very serene location, it has a beautiful backyard garden which can be seen through the glass doors of the galllery as you walk in.
