DENPASAR (indo.com): The council of Australian Travel
Operator conducted an inspection to Bali on November 21
- 24, 2002.
The leaders of the organization representing Australia's
travel tour operators paid courtesy visits to Mr. Ross
Tysoe, the Bali-based Australian Council; representatives
of Bali Village, the Bali and Nusa Tenggara Pacific Asia
Travel Association (PATA) Chapter, and Bali Tourism Board;
various members of the Casa Grande - the association of
four and five star hotels in Bali; ranking representatives
of the Indonesian police force; paid a visit on the Bali
International Medical Center; and made an emotional respectful
visit to "ground zero" - the scene of the deadly
terrorist attack of October 12th, 002.
The visits were coordinated by Garuda Orient Holiday
and Bali Discovery Tours.
The representatives of the Council of Australian Travel
Operator expressed their commitments to reviving Bali's
economy in the wake of the October 12, 002 tragic bombings.
The delegates were highly impressed with the good cooperation
between local police and a team of international investigators
as evidenced with the arrest of perpetrators of the terrorist
attacks. In a meeting with local police, the Council of
Australian Travel Operator members learned about security
measures to prevent the possible reoccurrence of terrorist
attacks.
The delegates hinted follow up efforts to quickly heal
Bali's ailing tourism industry.
