Domestic flights increased for Lebaran

DENPASAR (indo.com): During the Lebaran holiday period, domestic carriers are reporting near 100% load levels for the period November 28 to December 8, 2002.

Merpati Nusantara Airlines (MZ) have been fully-booked since November 27th, despite moves to add an additional 35,840 seats to meet expected additional demand. Garuda Indonesia (GA) has added some 29,000 additional seats to its nation-wide network. They are reporting 80% booking capacity with many routes already fully booked for the Lebaran holiday period.

Despite airlines maximizing the use of their available fleets through additional flights, tickets to almost all Indonesian destinations are hard to come by before 9 December, after which the holiday rush is expected to ease.
