In relation to the World Health Organization (WHO) report
on the outbreak of Severe Acute Respitory Syndrome (SARS)
dated March 21, 2003, the Governor of Bali herewith would
like to inform the following: reassure
Until now, there is no indication that Bali is infected
by SARS virus. No one has been found infected by the disease,
both locals and foreign tourists.
The government of Bali has taken measures recommended
by the WHO. The Office of Health of Bali Province has
taken early anticipation and observation by distributing
the SARS preventive brochure at Ngurah Rai International
Airport, particularly to arriving passengers from the
infected countries. Anyone with early symptom of the disease
is urged to promptly contact the nearest doctor, hospital,
or Government Health Office.
For further anticipation, Sanglah Public Hospital has
prepared a team and a special area to handle, should there
is someone with symptom of the disease.
Based on the above facts, the Governor of Bali declares
that there is no reason to fear visiting Bali, including
a visit to participate in the PATA conference.
May the Almighty God guide and save us.
