Despite the overwhelming impact of Bali
Bombing, the people of Bali, the Indonesian government,
and people around the world refuses to be intimidated
by such act of terrorism. Bali is slowly but surely
recuperating from its wounds. Still being a main tourism
spot, Bali is conducting festivals, important summits,
and other events more intensely than ever.
Bali is now schedueled for the ASEAN
Summit on 7-8 October 2003, which the heads of ASEAN
countries will attend, and right now conducting the
Kuta Festival running from 11 September '03 to 12 October
'03.
The Kuta Festival is an event to commemorate
the lives and memories of those who experienced the
Bali Bombing incident. The festival itself consists
of several sub-events. These are several of those sub-events...
Rock 'n' Run 3: The Trilogy
THAN 500 PEOPLE WERE
'RUNNING FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE'
Hard Rock Hotel Bali once again successfully
conducted a charity Rock n' Run 3: The Trilogy on 14
September 2003. More than 500 participants turned out
at the yearly event to 'run for someone else's life'.

The idea of a “Beach Market”
was originated from a community of restaurant and shop
owners alongside the Legian beach area to run a regular
market to raise money to fund their beach environment
project, whilst at the same time providing a place for
“small vendors” and economies that are affected
by the bomb a place to sell their foods, goods and services.
Kuta Karnival Builds 1000 Sandcastles
on the Beach!
Thursday October 9th - 4pm
One for all the family to enjoy! Participate
in The Day of a Thousand Sandcastles! Register at 4pm
and build for two hours. Any style, any number of participants
on a team! Special appearance by DIGI the Digging Bucket-Head!
All proceeds to Bali orphans.
Jimbaran to Kuta Surf Paddle Race
This will be a thrilling event! Surrounded
by a flotilla of small craft, competitors will surf-paddle
from Jimbaran to Kuta - a feat which will take approximately
two hours for the fastest!Link
Supporting the event will be the Phinisi
schooner - Dewi Laut - the best place from which to
watch the event!
