Purification ceremony held at Sari Club, Kuta
The grieves and sincere condolence is still covering Bali. But
the Balinese Hindu people never stop their effort to show that Bali
will awake up soon and many tourists will also fled from their country
to visit Bali.
As Balinese Hindus belief, every calamity happened in Bali
must be purified spiritually and the rites must be held in a place
where it's happened.
It can be visualized at the remains of Sari Club on Jl Legian Kuta,
the purification ceremony was conducted after the bombs explosion
in order to purify the earth. The purification ceremony is called
Pemerayasita Durmanggala.
The ceremony was held on October 18, 2002 taking the place at the
ruins of Sari Club on Jl Legian, Kuta. Many people from different
religions wearing Balinese traditional dress coming there to witness
that ceremony while praying together based on their own faith. Many
foreigners wore the Balinese dress also came there for joining the
ceremony.
The ceremony was started at 16.30 hours local time, when the holy
water (tirta) taken from three temples of Peti Tenget temple, Uluwatu
Temple and Dalem Peed Temple in Nusa Penida Island were sprinkled
to the earth at Sari Club areas. The holy water that was taken by
any ceremony was believed comprising a magical power to purify the
earth from any invisible dirtiness because of blood pouring by hundreds
of human being that were killed when the bombs explosion.
The ceremony that was conducted by the priest from the general
temple in Kuta was attended by IB Wijaya kusuma, the head of Badungs
Religion affair. He also conveyed the prayers for all the soul that
are still bound in that place to be released spiritually. The vice
regent of Badung was also presented.
The vice regent of Badung, Drs. I Made Sumer said that this ceremony
is a primarily spiritual purification ceremony prior to the more
elaborate purification ceremony called Pemarisudha Karipu Baya that
is scheduled to be conducted by November 15, 2002.
On the other hand, the head of Kuta territorial (locally called
as Bendesa adat), I Made Wendra thanked to all people from different
ethnics as well as from different religions who had been participated
in the purification ceremony.
