Affandi Museum is located between the airport and the city, in the lush garden next to Affandi's (1907-1990) unusual stilted private home. He was Indonesia's foremost impressionist painter who built a private museum for his own paintings and of those of his daughter Kartika. Affandi's grave (he died in May 1990) lies in the backyard next to the museum. |

Sonobudoyo is the second most complete museum in Indonesia after the one in Jakarta. It has various collections of antique relics and other cultural and historical items which are well worth seeing. It is located on the north side of the north square. It was built in 1935 with a Javanese architecture. The gate connects the "Pendhopo" (the main hall) to "Joglo Induk" (the main building without walls). |
Here you can find various kinds of puppets, many masks, and Javanese musical instruments Balinese relics and antiques. |
