The view of Belimbing Village is best enjoyed early in
the morning or late in the afternoon on a clear day. When
rainy, fog usually follows the rain and obscures the whole
village. With the arrival of the planting season, the local
cultivators start plowing their fields adding traditional
culture to the scenery. The cultivators have retained their
old way of cultivating their land with the help of buffalo.
The scenic assets of Belimbing Village in the Pupuan district
of Tabanan regency are highlighted by stretches of coffee
and cocoa plantations, adding further natural beauty of
this fresh-aired village. In addition, winding terraced
padi fields present the spectator with magnificent scenery.
Belimbing Village is approximately 50 kilometers to the
north of Denpasar. The winding, undulating roads will leave
a deep impression on the memory. Some amenities are already
available, such as International standard accommodation
and small restaurants featuring Balinese, Indonesian and
international cuisines.
As padi grows profusely in the area, a deep green covers
the landscape, resembling a vast emerald rug laid on the
slopes of the hills. The cultivators of these crops share
an intimate relationship with nature. At harvest time, the
cultivators cut the paddy with traditional equipment called
"anggapan". Standing in rows, they sing while
they glean their harvest.
At the night, the village is devoid of any man-made sounds;
only the chirping of crickets and nocturnal birds can be
heard, warming the imagination of reposing visitors. A visit
to this blissful mountainous area is a sure way to unwind
from a hectic schedule.
