Robin,
Master
of City Tour

DENPASAR (Indo.com): Robin is an English legend and now he comes to the capital of Denpasar with an idea. He wants to introduce a city tour as a reality in the traffic jam jungle.

He already began his war, starting by rearranging Badung's river, some palaces and many tourist projects to wipe out people's doubt about city tour program.

Robin looked so calm when we visited him in his office recently. It is hard to predict his age. But he looks younger than his real age, probably because he has a lot of ideas as well as a high sense of leadership.

"This will be a long journey before we can achieve the main goal. Just let people comment on this (the project). I have my own idea to make this project a success. I always account between what we will get and what we must sacrifice for it. This is my land and I am responsible for this land," he said when asked to respond to criticisms on the city tour program.

Robin has already been involved in tourism industry since 1960s. He is a witness of tourism progress in this island. He was considered to be a pioneer in providing tourism "cake" for local people, especially after proposing an idea to establish a tourism school in Bali.

His travel agent has made a significant contribution to tourism industry in the island. And now some of his students have been successful businesspeople in tourism industry. It makes him very optimistic to make city tour as one of the key programs in his career as an executive.

Robin's next program is to rearrange traditional market, Badung Market on Sulawesi street, as an international café. He will provide courses for food and beverage vendors in this area and "so they can serve their guests with international taste in Bali's atmosphere. Government is expected to provide clean and nice places for them."

As a man who holds a position in the government through fair endeavors, he wants to make his office and government projects free from corruptive and collusive practices.

Even with his previous business partners, Robin had asked them to run their business without opposing the existing regulations.

Robin always stressed that that Bali future is "our responsibility".
