Bali still attractive to foreign investors
DENPASAR (indo.com): Despite the decrease in number of
tourists coming to Bali, investment in the island remains
buoyant.
Head of Local Investment Coordinating Board (BKPMD),
Ida Bagus Yudhara Pidada, reported that many investors
are still optimistic because Bali is well known throughout
the world. The Indonesian government is also working to
ensure a rapid recovery in the tourism sector. He added
that seven new investors had entered Bali a month after
the blast in Kuta. They are all foreign investors, coming
from America, Australia and a join venture of Malaysian
and Japanese companies.
The 4 Australian investors have invested US$ 915,000,
while 2 American investors have invested US$ 542,000 for
textiles and furniture. The Malaysian and Japanese joint
venture invested their capital in the music sector.
BKPMD announced that there were plenty of other new investments
in process, further re-affirming the island's long-term
potentials.
