Australian Airlines takes Bali route
DENPASAR
(indo.com): Fledging carrier Australian Airlines will
continue its long tradition of flying holidaymakers to
Bali from Australia's eastern states, with four services
a week to Denpasar as a start.
It will also bring the "red center" to the Island
of Bali with its signature ochre coloring recognized internationally
as the color of the heart of Australia.
The airline's Market and Sales Development Manager, Ms.
Luisa Pastrello said that the inaugural Australian Airlines
flight from Melbourne to Bali commenced on June 27, 2003.
The airline landed on the Ngurah Rai International Airport
at night, with a full-load of 271 passengers.
Luisa added that the Australian Airlines is expected
to make valuable contribution to the recovery of the tourism
industry in Bali, with the ability to bring in more than
1,000 visitors each week from next month when all four
services are operated.
Bali is the 11th destination since it began flying on
October 27, 2002, and will become a familiar sight in
the blue skies over Bali in the coming months. Moreover,
this flight provides Victorians access to non-stop services
from Melbourne to Denpasar for the first time since November
2002.
From July 25, 2003, the number of Australian Airlines
flights will grow to four - departing Australia on Tuesdays,
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - with the addition of
three weekly non-stop services from Sydney.
Ms. Luisa Pastrello also said that it will operate connecting
flight services to Singapore before returning to Bali
as Singapore is also a very important hub for UK and European
travelers coming to Bali. The Australian Airlines will
cooperate with its airline partners in its efforts to
increase access to this popular holiday destination.
Bali remains Australia's preferred holiday destination.
