Bali to hold one-long-carnival
DENPASAR (indo.com): A plan is underway to hold a one-month-long
carnival to commemorate those who became the victims of
last year’s Bali bombing in Kuta, Bali.
The carnival to be organized by the Kuta Small Business
Association (KSBA)is expected to commence on September
12, 2003.
Called ‘Carnival of Life’, the programs will
include fashion shows, surf competitions, competitive
supports, food festivals, traditional dance and theaters,
art exhibition, sand sculpture contests, live musical
instruments, sky diving, extreme toy exhibitions, a grand
parade and beach Olympics.
Deeply concerned about the current situation in Bali
resulting from last year’s Bali bombing, the association
has been actively involved in conducting activities expected
to contribute to the recovery of Bali.
The association is strongly committed to supporting community
development projects and promoting local tourism and trade.
The association, a non-profit organization, has recently
set ethics and business standards for its members. The
standards stipulate among others fair representation of
goods and services, pricing reflecting the value of goods
and services; clean and hygienic premises; courteous and
conscientious service by all employees; honesty in financial
and currency exchange services; improvement of the business
environment by encouraging off-street parking and orderly
appearances for local business; good citizenship through
active involvement in community improvement projects;
and promotion of Kuta as a business.
