CATO postpones Bali Meeting until 2004
DENPASAR (indo.com): The Council of Australian Tour
Operators (CATO) have decided to postpone their annual
conference until June 2004 due to the small number of
operators interested in the planned meeting. The meeting
was originally scheduled for June 6-9, 2003.
Sources said that the downturn in business activities,
with many companies asking their staff not to travel for
efficiency reasons has contributed to the small number
of operators interested in the conference.
The Council is comprised of tour operators from Australia
selling overseas travel programs to the Australian public.
The conference will discuss Lessons Learnt - Crisis Management
for the Travel Industry.
The event organizers have selected Bali as the host of
the planned conference in the hope that it will contribute
to Bali tourism recovery.
