Garuda Indonesia to join incentive tourism package
DENPASAR (indo.com): The national flag carrier, Garuda
Indonesia Airlines, plans to contribute around 20% of
the incentive tourism package organized in conjunction
with the Bali tourism components for the Europe-Bali route.
Marko Umbas, the Executive Passenger Marketing of Garuda
Indonesia said recently that the joint incentive package
would be established through the low season period of
March-June 2002 and September-November 2002. However,
he could not mention the current rate to be set, but he
guaranteed that it would be cheaper.
The joint incentive package between the airlines and
the tourism components is to be introduced first of all
to the international market, especially Europe-Bali.
In addition, Marko explained that Garuda Indonesia have
been providing 1,200 seats per week to serve the Denpasar-Frankfurt
route (round trip).
Meanwhile, Bali tourism components as such PHRI (Indonesia
Hotels and Restaurants Association), ASITA (Association
of the Indonesian Tours & Travel Agents Agencies),
PUTRI, Gahawisri and the Association of Art Shops, are
working towards contributing special rates of particular
products, estimated at about Rp.350 billion.
"The incentive package is aimed to make a profit
for airlines, hotels, and other tourism attractions during
the low season. The package would be given to ten thousand
visitors that fly through London and Frankfurt,"
said Paul E.Tallo, the Vice Chief of ASITA Bali.
