Balinese artists performed at PATA conference

DENPASAR (indo.com): A Balinese art team of 46 artists from the Badung regency has recently performed at the annually Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Conference 2002 in New Delhi, India. They performed there from April 14 to 18, 2002.

The art team also performed in Mumbay (formerly Bombay), the capital city of Maharastra State, before returning to Indonesia on April 22, 2002 as stated on the Press Attache of RI Embassy in New Delhi.

In Mumbay, the musical and dance artists performed in the session of "Malam Indonesia" (Indonesian Night), one of the closing shows at the PATA Conference at Nehru Center, New Delhi. The show also announced that Indonesia would host the next PATA Conference.

The Governor of Bali, Dewa Made Beratha was one of the Indonesian functionaries who attended the conference. Governor Beratha is also scheduled to meet the Prime Minister of India, Atal Behari Vajpayee, while visiting temples in some Indian cities, such as Rishikesh, Haridwar in Utarranchal, Bhubaneswar in Orissa, and Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
