Denpasar to celebrate New Year Party

DENPASAR (indo.com): To welcome 2004, Denpasar municipality government will present various art and culture performances at the Puputan Badung Square on December 31, 2003.

With theme 'Melepas Matahari 2003' (Farewell to the 2003 Sun), local government will prepare a giant-shaped Jempiring Flower (common gardenia).

The New Year Party will also feature food exhibition.

The giant Jempiring Flower measuring 2 meter high and 4 meters in diameter.

Choreographer Kadek Suardana told local daily that at the countdown, artificial giant flower will spray out hundreds of fireworks that will spark in the sky.

Meanwhile, chairman of the organizing committee Nyoman Suarsa said that the art and cultural shows to celebrate New Year Party will start in the morning at December 31, 2003 and finish in the morning at January 1, 2004.
