Ambassadors visit Bali to witness restored security
DENPASAR (indo.com): Ambassadors from several countries
have visited Bali to witness that security on the Island
of the Gods has been restored.
The foreign ambassadors were from Sweden, North Korea,
South Korea, Canada, Vietnam, Cambodia, Russia, China
and The Philippines. They arrived in Bali on December
29, and departed on December 30, 2002. During their stay
in Bali, they visited various tourist sites to go bird
watching, forest biking and experience a traditional Balinese
massage.
On the following day they visited Buleleng Regency, famous
for its coral reefs, submarine views and a rich artistic
culture.
Russian ambassador Sergey Petlyakov reported that thousands
of Russians are ready to visit Bali next year. He also
said he would inform the Russian people that Bali is a
safe place well worth visiting. The Chinese ambassador
was also impressed with the beauty and safety of Bali
even though many countries are still imposing travel bans
on Indonesia after the Bali bombing.
He also expressed his intent to convey this to the Chinese
people.
