World top golfers to play in Bali
DENPASAR (indo.com): The Bali Invitation Golf Tournament
will be held at the Nirwana Bali Golf Course on February
8-9, 2003. As part of Bali's recovery efforts, the event
will be held under the sponsorship of the Ministry for
State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in cooperation with Chinkara
Capital Limited of Singapore. The tournament's $100,000
winning prize will to be donated to charities in Bali.
Several top golfers are expected to take part in the upcoming
event in Bali's legendary Greg Norman Championship Course.
They include South Africa's Ernie Els, ranked second in
the world's golf and the British Open Championship, Nick
Faldo, Justin Rose, and Robert Allenby, European Ryder
and six times world champion from England and Australia's
top ranked player on the PGA Tour.
Indonesian golf amateurs will receive golfing tips from
the golf professionals on Saturday, February 8, 2003 in
a golf clinic at the Nirwana Bali Resort before they are
given a chance to test their skills at the subsequent
Pro-Am Tournament.
The Nirwana Bali Golf Course has beautiful panorama.
It lies on the southwest coast of the island - near Tabanan,
spread over 103-hectares encircled by rice paddies. From
here, you can also have spectacular view of Indian Ocean
and Tanah Lot Temple. It is no wonder that the course
has been internationally recognized as "The Best
Golf Resort in Asia" and "The Best Golf Course
in Indonesia".
