DENPASAR (indo.com): The Seniwati Gallery of art by women in Ubud is set to hold a painting exhibition by the artist Sucik Yulianti W. in the New Seniwati Show Space throughout the month of January 2002.

Sucik Yulianti W. was born in Malang, East Java in 1975. She has been painting since she was a child and in 1993 started studying on her own. She is active in a gallery in her hometown.

"Painting is not something that shapes itself, but is an attempt to express oneself through work with a vision of attempting the highest realms of art and raise our own creative resources in the effort", said Sucik Yulianti.

She added that an exhibition is not just a routine activity of showing paintings, but rather she hopes that visitors will contemplate through the person responsible until the experience of the exhibition creates fresh understanding alongside the artistic dialogue which it expresses.

Sucik has been actively exhibiting since 1994, mostly in the Malang area but also in Surabaya in 1999.
