Runa House of Design and Museum opened

DENPASAR (indo.com): Travelers to Bali will have more opportunities to see collections of jewelry items when the Runa House Design and Museum in Lottunduh Village, Ubud, opens to the public. Recently, Minister of Trade and Industry opened the Runa House and Museum.

The opening of the museum marks the 25th anniversary of the Runa Jewelry business run by top Indonesian jewelry and accessory designer Runi Palar.

Runi's works have been exhibited worldwide. The designer is the recipient of the American Gold Star for quality and this year, she was selected by Fashion TV, Paris, as the best Fashion Accessories Designer.

Gold and Silver Runa designs use precious and semi precious stones, Indonesian and south sea pearls in earrings, necklaces and brochure. CV Runa has diversified into giftware, silverware, corporate gifts and museum gifts, exporting jewelry to Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Europe, Canada and the USA.

Committed to a clear brand marketing strategy, Runa Jewelry is retailed in selected boutiques at home and abroad. Outlets are found in luxury hotels in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Bali. Designs vary, with styles stemming from different areas, including Yogyakarta and Bali. The designs are influenced by local surroundings. The products are now available around the world.

CV Runa Jewelry has produced a limited edition of lapel pin depicting a Dewi Sri cili. No Balinese deity is better loved and more frequently venerated. Her effigy is present in rice fields and rice barns. As rice is the essence of life or locally called "amertha", Dewi Sri is the giver of life and all things that sustain it. Thus, the cili represents the prosperity of life.

"This commemorative cili represents Dewi Sri as the goddess of prosperity," said Runi and Adri Palar. " It is our wish for each respected guest sharing in the commemoration of our 25th anniversary of Runa Jewelry, to receive this token of our wishes for prosperity," they added.

A silent auction was also held to raise funds for charity to benefit Rotary Australia Sight Restoration Program Bali and East Bali Poverty Project.
