'No Smoking Area' at Ngurah Rai Airport
DENPASAR (indo.com): Bali's Ngurah Rai International
Airport announced its non-smoking area and would impose
sanctions on those found smoking in departure or arrival
areas surrounding the airport. The new regulation was
put into effect on April 15, 2002.
PT Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Airport's Public Relation
Staff IGN Arditha SH said that efforts are underway to
turn the Ngurah Rai Airport into the free-smoking area,
especially at the international and domestic terminals,
considering that a special smoking area has been provided
for smokers.
The new regulation was firstly announced through the
airport's central information, and was repeated in English
and Indonesian every one hour to all passengers, guests
and all of the people in the arrival and departure terminals.
Most of the people in those areas appreciated the regulation,
with several of them seen reminding others of not smoking.
Some others, however, were seen smoking in the check-in
area at the first floor of the international departure.
