DENPASAR (indo.com): The national carrier Garuda Indonesia is now offering two more services per week to London and Frankfurt. Flight GA970 from Denpasar to London will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and flight GA972 from Denpasar to Frankfurt will add a Thursday service to its current Tuesday and Friday flights.

Garuda has introduced an additional Sydney-Jakarta service, and now has daily services to Bali from Sydney. Garuda has also introduced a new, direct flight service from Brisbane to Bali, departing Saturdays. This increases the number of Garuda services from Brisbane to Denpasar to four per week.

Travel Weekly East reported that Kerry Timms, Sales Manager NSW & ACT for Garuda Indonesia, said that they saw a 30 percent growth in traffic prior to Sept 11 and early indications show this growth will continue throughout 2002.

Kerry also added that particularly pleasing is the renewed interest in destinations such as Yogjakarta, Surabaya and Lombok. By common rating the Bali and Jakarta fares, and providing three direct services between Sydney and Jakarta, Garuda is able to make these destinations more accessible and affordable. The increase in the capacity on the Indonesia - Europe route would ease past difficulties in obtaining seats on Europe flight during the peak season.
