Attractions of West Bali National Park
DENPASAR
(indo.com): The West Bali National Park offers excellent
opportunities for jungle trekking, snorkeling, diving
and camping. Speaking of the United Nations year of eco-tourism,
Chief of Bali Forestry Department I Made Subadia said
recently that despite some existing problems in the park,
conservation efforts should ensure that it has a good
future as an eco-tourism attraction. However, he pointed
out that some investments in the area had damaged approximately
19 hectares of the park.
In 2001, 9,250 domestic and 14,682 foreign visitors came
to the park, mainly for leisure, but some also for scientific
purposes.
Head of Conservation Board TNBB Soedirun DS explained
that the Park was divided into zones: main zone, jungle
zone, utilized zone and culture. Attractions included
Menjangan Island, Terima Bay, Mount Klatakan, Jayaprana's
grave, Tegal Bunder, Gilimanuk Bay and Labuan Lalang.
