New visa policy put into effect
DENPASAR (indo.com): At least 42 foreign nationals were
refused to enter Indonesia and asked to leave the country
in the first four days of the implementation of the new
visa policy. The visa policy was put into effect on February
1, 2004.
Local dailies reported that several of those tourists
were asked to immediately fly out of the country because
they arrived without a visa in their passports. They affected
tourists include those from Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden,
Austria, Mexico, Turkey and Ireland - the countries are
required to obtain a visa before landing in Indonesia.

The nationals of 11 countries and territories are given
visa free of charge upon landing in Bali while the nationals
of 21 other countries are eligible to obtain a visa at
the airport after they pay US$ 25 for a 30-day visa and
US$10 for a 3-day visa.
Nationals from the country not on the free-visa list
must first obtain a visa from an Indonesian Embassy of
Consulate before landing in the country.
