Balinese painter to display works overseas

DENPASAR (indo.com): Painter Nyoman Gunarsa will display 400 of his paintings in San Francisco from October 15 - November 1, 2001. The exhibition will have the theme liberation, known locally as "Moksa'.

Nyoman Gunarsa explained that Moksa in Hinduism is the last level of the human life cycle that everyone reaches if they have conducted their life with good deeds in the world.

The overseas exhibition shows that foreigners have high appreciation of works by Indonesian artists, he said.

A Graduate of the School of Arts in Yogyakarta, Nyoman has established Museum Seni Lukis Klasik Bali, located in Klungkung.
