Balinese artist and businessman displays art works

DENPASAR (indo.com): The works of Ida Bagus Lolec, a Balinese cartoonist and managing director of Pacific World Travel are on display at the Paros Gallery in Sukawati from October 21 to November 10 2001.

Agung Rai, director of the famous Arma Museum in Ubud, officially opened the solo exhibition, which has the theme of the 'Dancing Soul' and features some 56 paintings.

Ida Bagus Lolec is a man of many talents; in addition to being a cartoonist, he is also a businessman fully engaged in tourism business and a former travel writer. His works cover a number of subjects, including street scenes from Italy, UK and Australia as well as Balinese scenes and personal expressions.

Two other Balinese painters are currently exhibiting their works at Basel Cultural Museum in Switzerland. The exhibition of Panded Ketut Taman and Putu Sutawijaya's works, entitled 'The Human Being as Measurement', will run until October 31, 2001.
