Bali Recovery Program launched

DENPSAR (indo.com): The Bali Tourism Board (BTB) has proposed a Bali Recovery Program to local administration to combat the decline in number of tourists visiting the island in the wake of recent international events.

The program will consist of both a PR campaign to reassure travelers that Bali is unaffected by turbulence in other parts of Indonesia and efforts to seek new markets in Asia Pacific countries, Japan, South America, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, China and India. However, BTB asserted that the domestic market should not be ignored.

The BTB also said that with many aviation services shifted from the US and Europe to the South, Bali will see an overflow of foreign flights. Foreign airlines serving direct flights to Bali include Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airlines, China Airlines, Japan Airlines, Eva Air, Cathay Pacific, Lauda Air, Uni Air, Royal Brunei, Qantas and Continental.
