Incentive tourism packages offered for Europeans
DENPASAR (indo.com): The Bali tourism components and
the Garuda Indonesia Airlines have agreed to jointly offer
an incentive tourism package for European visitors in
a bid to improve the European market.
The agreement was reached in a recent meeting attended
by representatives of Bali tourism associations, including
the PHRI (Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association),
Bali Village, Asita (Association of the Indonesian Tours
& Travel Agencies), HPI, Sipoco, Gahawisri, Casagrande
and Pawiba and Garuda Indonesia's Vice President to Planning
and Marketing Marco Umbas.
The incentive tourism package is aimed at improving the
number of arrivals of European travelers.
The Chairman of PHRI Bali, Gde Wiratha, said that the
Association of Hotels and Restaurants would provide 100,000
room nights, valued at Rp350 billion over two years.
Meanwhile, Ida Bagus Ngurah Wijaya, chairman of Bali
Village, said that the incentive tourism package program
will be launched to coincide with the international tourism
promo, the International Torismus Borse in Berlin, Germany
on March 16, 2002. The actual form of the tourism incentive
package program has yet been decided.
