Bali Airport to have shopping center
DENPASAR (indo.com): Ngurah Rai International Airport
will build a 'one stop' shopping center (OSS) in the airport
area.
PT PAP Branch Chief IGM Dhordy explained that the plan
to build a shopping center is to allow the Ngurah Rai
International Airport to meet international airport standard
requirements. Required facilities include a shopping center
and a hotel for the passengers who transit overnight.
The construction of the OSS will start this year, after
the 'day room service' (transit hotel) project is complete.
The OSS will be built on the current parking area, separated
by the road from the domestic terminal to the international
terminal. An avio bridge will be used to connect the passengers'
terminal buildings with the OSS.
PT PAP's Public Relations Staff IGN Arditha said that
the three star transit hotel, currently under construction,
will have 40 rooms. The hotel will be built to accommodate
transit passengers and aircraft crew.
Bali Tourism Office spokesman I Gusti Ketut Sudana agreed
with the planned shopping center project, saying that
the facility will enable transit passengers to shop there
- more convenient that having to go to Denpasar or Kuta.
